„Growing together” project will be the 2nd EVS project run by the Nursery School no 4 in Pułtusk. The aims of the project:1. Development of intercultural education activities for the pupils.2. Support to learning English by children, teachers and volunteers by everyday use of the language.3. Making Nursery School Activities more attractive and enriching them with volunteers’ initiatives.4. Making the volunteers familiar with educational and care needs of children at the age of 3 – 6, teaching methods and integration process of the children with disabilities or disorders.5. Giving the volunteers opportunities to gain social and intercultural competences, developing their initiative and familiarising with Polish culture and language.6. Promotion of international voluntary service and intercultural education among local youth and local institutions, mainly nursery schools.„Growing together” project consists of 2 long-term EVS activities:11-month-voluntary service with a Turkish volunteer and 10-month-voluntary service with a volunteer from Finland. The activity of a Turkish participant is focused on support to children with disabilities and disorders whereas the activity of a Finnish volunteer support groups without disabled children.The volunteers are at the age of 18 - 30 and have interest in work with young children (3-6 years old). They are willing to learn about children's needs and methods of work corresponding to them as well as develop social and intercultural competences, independence and initiative. The participant willing to support integrational activities needs to have motivation to work with disabled children. The volunteers will learn through action, however their activities will be preceded by appropriate training. Everyday work will be supervised by the work coordinator and teachers. The volunteers will have a set of duties assigned but there will be space for their initiatives. The tasks will be introduced gradually depending on the volunteers' learning pace. Promotion of European Voluntary Service n the local community through promotional activities and regular meetings with youth will be an additional aspect of the project.The results of the project will be increased knowledge on 2 new countries among children, realising new ideas and activities but also working out an efficient system of cooperation with the volunteers. For the volunteer the project will be a chance to gain knowledge on education of young children, learn the Polish language and get to know the culture, develop a number of social skills such as ability to work in a team, communication skills, independence etc. and become more sensitive towards the need of the local community. The volunteers will live in a multicultural group which will give more opportunities for intercultural learning. The project will have a big impact on the local community: people related to the nursery school as well as local institutions and may result in development of international voluntary service in Pułtusk and Pultusk county.
