VSI is the Coordinating Organization of this EVS project where Cloughjordan Community Farm (CCF) will host an EVS volunteer sent by the organization BIJ in France, for 12 months.
The volunteer with CCF will work on promoting CCF as a model for other community projects and to promote the ideas of self-sufficiency, sustainable living and local food produce.
This EVS project will contribute to VSI's mission of promoting peace, social justice, sustainable development and intercultural understanding through volunteering in Ireland and internationally through hosting the volunteer from a different culture through the volunteer working on sustainable development and raising environmental awareness with CCF.
We expect the volunteer to grow personally and professionally, to increase her intercultural understanding and to learn about climate justice, the environment and eco-village structure and coordination. The EVS project will provide the volunteer with the opportunity to enhance her employability through increasing her skills in working sustainable development and also developing her 'hard' and 'soft' skills.
The partner organizations will increase their intercultural understanding, learning more about each other's countries and cultures. Through the project we also expect the organizations to increase our youth work capacity. We expect the partner organizations to develop their relationships and that we will work together on EVS and other Erasmus+ projects in the future. We expect the local communities and general public to learn about the Erasmus+ programme through this EVS and that it will promote their participation in it.
