Having identified the main problems related to the nature conservation in the region and having selected the target groups for the intervention, the partners under the project have carefully developed a list of suitable activities that will lead to better understanding of the problem related to the importance of the environmental protection for the well being of the people in the region. First of all the partners intend to improve suitable existing infrastructure in order to provide physical conditions that will enable further implementation of information and public awareness activities. The infrastructure includes recovery of "the Lakes" eco perk at the territory of Kyustendil Municipality and creation of an information center for environment protection in the protected area of Vlasina. The non-infrastructural component of the project includes several activities aimed at increasing of the public awareness regarding the importance of nature protection. Nature and its resources can be used in various ways for providing social and economic development but since most of the resources are not renewable or very slowly renewable, people should protect them against damage and extinction in order to be able to benefit from them in the long term. And there is no better way for people to get to know that than to be informed in a suitable way of the importance of these resources and of the ways for their conservation, protection and sustainable use. For that reason the present project includes this information component, providing activities and events for environmental education, training, exchange of information and good practices.
