The project Green Action Is Now! is a solidarity project that aims at enabling young Europeans (16-22 years old, from France, Ireland, the Netherlands) to discover, share and enrich themselves through inter-cultural exchange, participation of associative activities, community service, and the experience of democraty in decision-making process thanks to their direct involvement in the development of this project.By using sustainable development notions and actions as a vector to meet different people, in particular those who live in the Paris suburbs which are qualified as priority, the project Green Action Is Now! will work towards solidarity, tolerance, and devotion to serve communities. This project will be jointly built by the young European participants. They will be associated in the decision making process of what type of actions and solidarity activities they could think about, brainstorming, the design and the implementation of these activities to the targeted populations. Their involvement will allow them to acquire skills and experience, while being active European citizens and actors in their commitment. This project will also promote cross-cultural collaboration within teams (daily life team and working team) that will operate in semi-autonomy, along with the support and assistance of the leader team of this project. The project and the methods that we will used will ensure to foster initiative-taking and decision making process by the young europeans participants, youth empowerement in order for them to develop knowledge and experiences that will add value to their future personnal carrer. The location of this project will be in a suburb of Paris at La Courneuve, in the district called “ la cité des 4000”. The choice of this area serves several purposes: to meet populations sometimes considered by the general public as being disadvantaged, to propose them activities they would have probably never get, but also to facilitate contact and project sustainability through our partner association.Indeed, the project will involve a local partner association, Action Vert l’Avenir (NGO).This association will facilitate the implementation of the project by being the link between participants and targeted public. It will also provide us with expertise in the field of sustainable development, which will be here used as a vector to gather people living in the area and participants.
