The proposed project brings together 8 European Universities with considerable but diverse experience in EU-related studies, under the thematic umbrella of “Governance, Pluralism and Trans-nationalisation in Europe”. The creation of the GovUnet guarantees the strengthening of the cooperation among the partners and provides the necessary academic, technical and financial support for the realisation of the Network’s goals. Structured upon the core values of excellence in teaching, high-quality scholarly writing, strict peer-review process and timely analysis of topical issues, the final products of the GovUnet are expected to have a meaningful and lasting impact in the field of European studies. To this end, the GovUnet partners will support the creation of a Common School for Doctoral Studies, enabling student exchanges, pluralistic and interdisciplinary research, and the grooming of young academics with a truly international profile. In furtherance of this goal, an annual Summer School is also established, during which participants will have the opportunity to follow lectures from instructors representing all GovUnet partners and actively exchange ideas and research approaches with their peers. Similarly, the holding of Academic Sessions and Workshops will provide PhD and Masters students with opportunities for the presentation of draft academic papers intended for publication in notable international journals. Two international Conferences will showcase the research results of the Project to the academic community and the general public, culminating in the publication of respective collective volumes. The Project will be supported by the operation of an e-platform, enabling the communication among researchers, academics and the public, and guaranteeing visibility and broad accessibility to the research results.Thus, the GovUnet will not only produce considerable research in volume and impact, but also become a reference point in European Studies.
