GOLDSMITH PACK will create a model training package for application within the goldsmith sector and/or within other similar industries.Specific tools will be created to provide goldsmith trainers with additional teaching/training skills, which when added to existing technical skills will enhance the quality of training in this industrial sector. The overall approach is to combine the existing knowledge and experience of the sector with the know-how of teaching/training specialists to thus develop training in the goldsmith sector. Activities will comprise a study of existing training approaches in the European goldsmith sector, creation of an outline profile for goldsmiths with a focus upon identifying existing job skills/functions and development of specific training programmes/training content.Results will comprise a series of technical manuals, relating to the identified key skills (e.g. electro-plating, galvanisation, etc.) for which there will be specific manuals relating to key skills and a further manual aimed at the individual trainer. Beyond the manuals the project will produce a series of 5 case studies reflecting problems faced by the sector which will be presented in video form.A dedicated project website will be created from the start of the project to continually inform partners and other interested parties of ongoing project activity. Further dissemination will take the form of a final project video (demonstrating project approaches, methodology and results), a catalogue of products (manuals & videos) for circulation to schools, employers and training associations and via articles in relevant press and journals, appropriate to the sector.
