Between 1st of April 2008 and 31st of August 2008, SV Diomedon is hosting a project, with the result of a teenager exchange from the 15th till the 25th of July 2008, venued partly at the Olde Vechte accomodation in Ommen, partly at the SV Diomedon sportscomplex in Steenbergen, both in The Netherlands. We are expecting 6 youngsters from every country, in the age of 15 to 17 years old. The countries are: Greece, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and The Netherlands. From the country of The Netherlands we can host 2 extra participants. The exchange will be focussed on Eurpean citizenship and awareness through voluntary work, on intercultural and structured dialogue through games and activities and on democratically decisionmaking, improving a healthy lifestyle and learning about anatomy through sports and physical exercise. Besides this, there will be a streetdance workshop in Ommen and a disco swimming event with local youngsters from Steenbergen. There is the chance to learn more about athletic sports and we will visit a youth centre in Zwolle. The particiapants and leaders are supported to go beyond the prejudgements that they have and they are offered the chance to experience different cultures as they are meant to be experienced.
