The project "Global Education for Sustainable Development" is another step in the strategic development of 35 SOU “Dobri Voinikov" in terms of providing high-quality professional qualification in European institutions.The main objective of the project is to develop and upgrade the skills of teachers for working in an increasingly globalized world by:- Highlighting the links between culture, society, environment, economy, etc., which will be a precondition for the improvement of intercultural competences, sustainable thinking and behavior of the students.- The encouragement of cooperative learning, the sharing of knowledge, skills and experiences, as well as in the direct classroom activities and in the work on international projects;- The processes of development of clear values in the young generation, which will lead to sustainable development.The focus of this project is set in the European development plan of the school, where are defined three priority areas:1.Education for Sustainable Development / in connection with the development of the topics of global education, climate changes, human rights, tolerance, equality,etc. /2. Development of intercultural competences and work in international projects / characteristics of the work in a multicultural environment, methods for sustainable development in language learning and others. /3. Development of managerial competencies / development of leadership skills in school management and international projects; sharing of good practices for successful management /The participants in the training events are 3 representatives of the managerial staff and 18 teachers from elementary, junior high and high school, who will have the opportunity to acquire these skills and to distribute them to their colleagues in our institution and in a wider context - in Bulgaria and in Europe. Estimated impacts, concrete results and long-term benefits:1. Further training on topics directly related to the subject area of teaching in terms of intertwining themes of global education for sustainable development of young people in various subjects from 1st to 12th grade.2. Observations of innovative techniques on the topics of the project in a real learning environment; opportunity for professional communication with leading teachers from Europe.3. Comparing and taking of positive elements from educational systems in Europe.4. Adaptation of new methods and approaches on project- related topics for the specific conditions of the Bulgarian classrooms.5. Improvement of work in an intercultural environment through participation in international projects; enriching the language skills and cultural outlook of the teachers -participants, and thus influencing the students’development.We /the management and teaching staff/ believe that this project will contribute to providing global education for sustainable development of every child in our school and will help the process of internationalization of our school in European context.
