There are many young talented people all over the world, who do not have an opportunity to show their abilities and talent. Such lack of opportunity often leads youngsters to lose their motivation , favours the development of a passive, rather than active and participative, attitude and of a feeling of self-loathing. The aforementioned factors represent one of the main triggers of a self-reinforcing cycle of social exclusion. In order to break this circle, a participative approach is called for whereby youngsters are given the chance to share their talent and their feelings among themselves being at the same time offered an opportunity to elaborate solutions as to how they might build their own skills in their life. The present project provides such approach through a set of Non Formal Education activities employing dance and music as the main educational media. The potential of dance and music in breaking prejudices and social exclusion as well as promoting active participation and involvement is supported and confirmed by a consolidated set of educational approaches as well as by a long record of socially-oriented projects and initiatives throughout the world. The Trainers will share their tested experience in the field and together with participants they will try to elaborate further music and dance tools to cope with social exclusion of youth with fewer opportunities.
