The training course ?Give international dimension to your projects? took place in the ecological farm Toulcuv dvur, Prague, Czech Republic on 12-17 July 2015. The project included 20 partners from the following countries: Czech Republic, Germany, Armenia, Spain, Albania, Portugal, Russia, Poland, Georgia, Latvia, Ukraine, Croatia, Serbia, Belgium. The training course was attended by 28 participants.
The training course was created for environmental youth organisations who work actively with their local communities and would like to transfer their successful local projects to international level.
The participants were project coordinators and youth workers interested in developing their professional competences which will enable them to create successful international projects.
The aim of the training course:
To develop youth workers? competences which will allow them to transfer local youth projects to international level; to create new partnerships on environmental projects.
Objectives:
- To share best practices of implemented environmental local projects and develop capacities to transfer these projects to international level.
- To raise the level of practical skills and competences necessary for managing international projects.
- To provide information about funding opportunities for international projects.
- To build new partnerships for future international environmental projects.
Participants shared experience of their organisations and started working on moving their ideas and local projects to an international level. They discussed the quality of youth work, advantages of international cooperation on youth and environmental issues as well as the challenges, they learned about some useful tools for international cooperation, formed new partnerships and planned future projects and partnerships. They practised many new skills already while planning specific future projects.
The agenda included sessions that required active involvement of participants, especially work in small mixed groups but also presentations, theoretical input, brainstorming, practical workshops and strategic planning. The working methods of the project were based on the principles of non-formal education and intercultural learning. The methods reflected the needs of the participants and objectives of the event. The activities were prepared by experienced trainers with the help of the project team and they included: cooperative work in small international group, sharing experiences, interactive presentations, strategic planning, project planning, creating action plans, treasure hunting, team-building activities, networking, creating partnerships, theoretical input, workshops on practical tools, etc.
During the follow-up phase project teams worked and will continue to work on their ideas for international projects which will be implemented in 2016.
