"Giovani insieme in Ecuador" is an EVS group project in the field of international cooperation and awareness-raising initiatives, launched by ENGIM Ong of Rome-Italy with the partnership of the "Congregación de San José" of Quito-Ecuador. EVS volunteers will participate in the initiatives implemented in the youth centre of the town of Santo Domingo del los Tsachilas, in Ecuador, where street children are accommodated in order to support them with educational, vocational, sportive and recreational activities. The project idea is to accompany street children living in situation of risk, in a whole educational experience focused on the improvement of the quality of their life. The project entails the presence of 4 young volunteers, one of them with less economic opportunities or with social difficulties; they will be protagonists of the activities, being able to collaborate in the creative and projective stages, and of course in the practical implementation of the actions. ENGIM will guarantee personal and educational assistance to all the volunteers, through both specific educational and practical activities and informal stages and meeting, the latter organized in order to-support and give them the opportunity to discuss and share their ideas. These meeting will be led by professional staff. In this way EVS volunteers will be able to became aware of the self-learning process they will experience especially during the meetings and the exchanges with the presence of other volunteers or when in contact with Ecuadorian young people. Through Youthpass, all the skills acquired will be validated helping volunteers in their professional future once they will be back home.
