'Gilepsi' Vocational Training Course Development in Craft and Business Skills for People with Mental Health Illnesses
The ´Gilepsi´ project aims to develop a training programme for people with mental health problems, incorporating vocational skills in craft-based occupations alongside business skills for self-employment for work in social firms. The idea behind this project is to meet a training gap for this group providing new, alternative types of work. The project partners will develop four main results:° Assessments of aids and guidance information for use in identifying trainees who would gain from this type of training. These materials will enable tutors and support workers to provide appropriate support and guidance in delivering the training programme.° An integrated vocational and business skills training programme incorporating modules on personal development, specific vocational training and basic business skills.° Registration and certification of the training course.Production of training materials, course guidelines, module materials, dissemination materials, evaluation reports, assessment and guidance materials. The training programme will be tested in three countries, and the final outcomes will be presented on a web site and in CD ROM format. A video of the training programme will also be developed. Throughout the project, the partnership will disseminate reports, information material and training packages to a network of already established contacts in the fields of mental health, education, training and social health services, and business services at local, regional, national and EU levels.
