“Get Connected 2” (GC2) is a Training Course (TC) that aims to gather in Olbia, Sardinia with 25 participants from 11 countries.
There will be 7 full working days.
The countries: Italy, Netherlands, Cyprus, Croatia, Poland, Spain, Bulgaria, Austria, Malta, UK and Romania.
Participants: youth /social workers from engaged or dealing with Social Media and E-Participation.
Theme: Organisers and Trainers would like to develop participants’ skills, knowledge and attitudes concerning how to involve youth people through E-Media in the policy’s decision making process.
We will dedicate each day to a social media tool (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and You Tube) starting with a contribution of an expert and concluding with practical challenges for participants.
The connection between the days and the full picture of the event will be clear on the last day; the idea is to create an European Campaign on the ethical use of Social Media itself.
Furthermore, participants will plan a K1 multi-activity proposal which will be strictly linked to Social Media and youngsters.
The proposed Training Course is a follow up of a previous event which took place in Cyprus in November 2013, “Get Connected”, which explored e-participation through a general overview of the tools used by youth leaders.
The challenge of the Organisers and Trainers of this action is to further develop the technical aspects of participants’ skills, knowledge and attitudes concerning e-participation and social media.
On the other hand, we will focus on formal, informal and non-formal learning processes linked to social media of the everyday projects of a youth leader.
One of the goals will be to let them understand how they can develop identity, social sensitivity and professionalism.
Linking those to the importance of social media in these processes, and recognising how they can use their competences in their daily life.
The efficient way youth communicates and we can communicate with them is by social media.
So it is not only for ” everyday" projects of a youth leader.
GC2 wants to advertise the different projects and NGO’s involved in the TC by using social media to reach youth and raise awareness.
The overall aim of the TC is to raise awareness and understanding of quality aspects of e-participation in the the new Erasmus+ programme among social/youth workers, trainers, tutors, sending organizations.
The objectives of the TC are:
- To increase knowledge, gain new methodologies, and share new experiences on e-media to encourage youngsters to be active citizens;
- To raise awareness among the participants on key competences and to develop different methods for using them in practice within projects following the new requirements of E+programme, their organization goals, and through Non Formal Education;
- To develop the cooperation among different organisations coming from EU Programme countries.
We believe that especially the european youth sector can and will benefit from the project enormously in future years; therefore, we want to spend time, capacity and resources to share best practices and work with other young Europeans to create new methods of implementation in e-participation.
