Geo-Carpathians – Creating a Polish-Ukrainian Tourist Route (IPBU.01.02.00-18-203/10)

Marginalisation of rural areas of the Polish-Ukrainian borderland along with poor promotion of the region has led to insufficient use of tourist potential , underdevelopment in small business sector and low competitiveness in comparison to other regions.The project therefore aims at increase of tourist potential utilisation in the Carpathian region and improvement of conditions for entrepreneurial development through creation of a new Polish-Ukrainian tourist product – geotourist route. The route will comprise 28 geotourist objects chosen within the Polish-Ukrainian borderland (12 in Poland and 16 in Ukraine) constituting 700 kilometres of tourist paths. The project equally envisions creation of tourist information and training facilities, promotional publications concerning the route, training for travel guides, elaboration of geo-parks (PL, UA) and oil and gas industry open air museum (UA) , common database of geotourist objects in the borderland, etc.The project significantly expands the number of groups profiteering from the project results. These are students and lecturers of the higher educational establishments, entrepreneurs engaged in agro tourism, catering and transport, field guides, tour operators, tourists and the inhabitants of the Polish-Ukrainian Carpathian borderland.
