Start date: Jun 1, 2015,
End date: May 31, 2017
PROJECT
FINISHED
The project is mainly focusing on the training placement of the gas technicians graduates attending the course offered at MIEEK.
One flow of the participants will be placed for two weeks in a VET organization dealing with Natural gas in Poland and they will be trained in their field of natural gas, not only theoretically but also practically.
The second flow will be a long-term placement, of three participants, in organizations dealing with oil and gas, preferably in Norway, since it considers to be a leading country in the field. The objectives of the placement are the gain of extra knowledge and skills for a better understanding of the practical aspects of the gas industry.
Since the sector of natural gas is a new trend in Cyprus, due to the advances made in the industry, the main objective of this mobility project is to offer the opportunity to the graduates of the natural gas course, to gain the appropriate experience and knowledge that will help them taking a step further on their career.
Moreover an important objective of the project, is the internationalization of the school practices as well as the development of a European network, for future cooperation, n the framework of a long-term strategy.
Last but not least the understanding of different languages and cultures is an important objective of the project, since it will open new horizons to the participants. Especially those that will be placed for a long-term period (one year) abroad.
It is expected that the project will have a major impact. Not only to the participants that will gain invaluable knowledge and experience in the oil and gas practices applied in the real world - knowledge which is impossible to be gained in Cyprus due to the lack of expertise available to the relevantly new industry- but also to the school. A development of network for future cooperation is expected for becoming part of a greater European Community.
All the relevant preparation will be held and measures will be taken for an efficient management of the project.
