Overall objective / Objectif général The main objective of the project is to enhance the role that tourism plays in rural regions and contribute to its overall sustainable development. Different strategies will be developed concerning the preservation of cultural and natural heritage sites. In addition, it will be assessed how far the health or well-being sector and other public/private actors could be involved in this endeavor and how regional infrastructure including transport can be improved. It will also be evaluated how these initiatives can improve the overall social situation of the local population. The project includes five sub-topics: (1) Management of Resources, Environment; (2) Infrastructure and Communication; (3) Natural and Cultural Heritage; (4) Health and Well-being; (5) Human Resources. Expected results / Résultats attendus The project will implement 5 mini-projects consisting of thematic conferences that will contribute to the improvement of regional development through the exchange of best practices between the partners. Better management of environmental and human resources, as well as of cultural and natural heritage sites will be the result. Positive effects are also expected in the area of transport systems and the health sector.
