60 young people from Ukraine, Germany , Portugal, Romania , Italy, Russia and Turkey will take part in the ten-day youth exchange "Frankfurt is a € pean city" in October 2014. On the one hand Frankfurt is a big German metropole , on the other hand Frankfurt is an example of how the multicultural society can function peacefully, productive and mutually enriching. For this reason, we meet just in this city, to talk about the present state and the future of Europe . Both advantages and the positive, as well as problems and concerns are to be disscussed: the new, shiny building of the European Central Bank in Frankfurt's harbor and the financial crisis , EU enlargement plans and the Icelandic retraction of the EU accession declaration, Frankfurt Marathon and the growing number of smoking young people. It is particularly gratifying that not only participants from the EU countries participate in this discussion, but also young people from neighboring partner countries. In thematically diverse workshops, role plays, discussions and roundtables the adolescents maneuver, participation opportunities and career prospects for young people in Europe are to be explored. In addition to the various project results such as reports, photogalleries and newspaper articles , we hope to create a constructive suggestion list which consists of any possible improvements in areas of public transport , ecology and tourism in the city . This list is to be forwarded to the municipal magistrate.
