Summary: Photo Language Project covers the 12th grade students studying at Kemal Yurtbilir Special Education Vocational High School in the department of Graphic Design and Photography Area. It offers students the opportunitinity to complete their two-week internship period of duties in a EU member country in order that the students will increase their professional knowledge and experience. Whereby, the project is a genuine one between CRU Design, Associação de Surdos de Braga in Braga and Kemal Yurtbilir Special Education Vocational High School because of the fact that it will facilitate students to be ready and find a job according to their needs; to encourage the international cooperation and to support the social reintegration. Objectives: 1. The project will enable students to gain international experience in the field of photography, 2. The project will make it possible for students to have the advantage of getting job easily when looking for it after graduation thanks to international experience they will have had. 3. The project will give students to have opportunity to learn and apply about the photography in a working environment of a European Union country. 4. The project will allow students to follow technological advances and other innovations in the field of photography 5. The project will enable students to compare educational activities in the field of photography between Turkey and Portugal. 6. The project will enable hearing imparied students to integrate into the community. 7. The project will motivate the students to learn international sign language. 8. The project will increase the awareness of the different cultures. 9. The project will help students to get self-confidence, 10. The project will allow students to acquire skills and practise independently. 11. The project will enable the students to practise subject matters of "Photography" with the incorporation of new technological developments. 12. The project will reinforce the knowledge of students about the subject matter of photograpy with different methods and techniques in a different environment. Participants: Kemal Yurtbilir Special Education and Vocational High School, Graphic Design and Photography Area, 1 student from 11.th class and 11 students from 12th grade students: Totally 12 students Graphic Design and Photography Department Teachers : 2 Teachers, Total: 14 participants Activities: Firstly, Kemal Yurtbilir Special Education and Vocational High School, Graphic Design and Photography Department, 12th grade students will travel to Braga, Portugal to complete their internship duty at CRI Design. Students will have opportunity to get experience in the subjects of "Outdoors, Controlled indoor environment, uncontrolled indoor environment, macro and Black & White photo shots ". Then, students will visit Associação de Surdos de Braga, hearing impaired civil society organizations and / or these kinds of schools. Method: It is a study visit requiring to travel to Braga to complete 15-day internship duty of students. So, it contributes to the outcomes of the project . Project Outcomes and Impacts: A. Impact on students: 1. The increase of professional knowledge and international experience in the field of photography 2. Increased possibility of finding a job in their field, 3. The improvement of sign language skills, 4. Developed sensitivity to different cultures, 5. The development of self-confidence and self-esteem, 6. Gaining the ability of permanent learning. B. Impact on branch teachers; 1. The development of vision on different applications and innovations in the field of photography 2. Increased international experience and the establishment of professional collaboration C. Impact on the organization, 1. The ability of writing EU Programme, ERASMUS+ project; and coordination ability, 2. The improvement of education quality at school by ensuring sharing information amoung teachers. Long-term Potential Benefits: • The activitiy of hearing impaired students in a EU country offer equality of educational opportunity to the disadvantaged groups. • This project is a good example for other special education and vocational high schools as it reminds also disabled students can perform overseas project. It increases the preferability of the school by parents and it allows our school to follow the technology and innovations as it in communication with organizations and institutions at the international level.
