Formula Future – F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is a project addressing the topic active healthy lifestyle in accordance with the society and the world. Hereby not only modern aspects are considered but also the yesterday and the tomorrow. Using the slogan Yesterday, Today and tomorrow the 60 youths from Germany, Spain, Croatia, Slovenia, Turkey and Hungary examine the preconditions for a healthy active living and analyse the sociocultural factors for development in societies. Initiated by the youth organization LEO Clubs International Germany and the responsible persons of the Lions - Quest prevention program the idea was born to draft a youth exchange considering the different aspects of a healthy active lifestyle in a broader sense. In cooperation with the organisations from the European Lions Club International network the idea was taken up and further developed. Beside LEOs –members more young people were animated to participate, particularly youth with special needs. The project idea will be realised next year in summer 2015. From A to Z the youth deal with different aspects of the theme healthy active Lifestyle like fitness, recycling, inclusion, environmental protection, nutrition, development , society (shortly F.R.I.E.N.D.S.). In addition to activities with the respective host families the common activities during homestay with the whole group play an important role. On one side the homestay is intended to enable the orientation of young people in the new environment and to simplify their acclimatization, on the other hand the intercultural competence of the participants will be enhanced by the experience of family life in an unfamiliar environment and the interaction with the other participants. Regarding contents the project Formula Future – F.R.I.E.N.D.S. contributes to the EU - sustainability strategy by discussing its measures and objectives in detail: health, climate change, clean energy, sustainable transport, development, sustainable consumption and production, protection and management of resources, global challenges regarding poverty and sustainable development, social inclusion, demography and migration. As a consequence thereof the youngsters also contribute to the European Year for Development 2015. In a closing event the young people will present their project results to other international groups and put their research results and outcomes of group working as a basis for discussion. The event is open for multipliers, local media, host families, friends and interested people.
