Our project is called « horology training III – collaboration Belgium and Franche Comté”In this project, AFPA enterprise will welcome 44 of our final-year students studying clock-making in order to give them a professional training during a fortnight. They will learn how to verify the cleanliness and freedom of mobile of the exhaust, then to ensure mechanical functions up limiting losses of the energy transmitted to the regulating body., then , they will learn more about the movements, the faces and the hands. This project will also enable them to discover the Franche Comté region and the city of Besançon. We think it is also important for students to get to know other cultures, so not only will they learn how they understand and approach horology at FTSH but they will also learn about the architecture, the history, and the traditions in this part of Europe. We are certain that the contacts they will make with the people from there will be enriching and mind-opening.The trip will take place in spring 2017. It will be prepared, both by the teachers in our school, IATA, and the people responsible for their training at AFPA. The students will be assessed in Besançon and the knowledge and skills they acquire there will be highlighted and acknowledged through their marks in their school reports. When they come back, not only will they have learned new techniques, but they will also have changed their vision of Europe and of their European identity. They will also know more about the importance of acquiring skills through training and professional life. We are confident that this stay will also provide them with new experience in relationships, teaching them about how to behave in society and boosting their self-esteem.Thanks to all this, the students will have more strings to their bow which shall enable them to be more competitive on the job market, since they will be more qualified and will prove international experience. For the school and the horology section, this trip also provides cohesion among the teachers making up the team and will boost them in continuous training.
