PROJECT
FINISHED
The training institution submitted an application to the Erasmus+ programme for « individual Mobility for school education staff » for the mobility of a teacher of English, for a training course for teachers in Great Britain and for a technician in training and research in charge of international relationships in the school, for language courses in Malta and Spain.
This institution is a French agricultural school, situated in a rural area, with courses in general education (baccalauréat), technical and professional education as well as higher education diplomas (HND) in the fields of agriculture and forestry.
The school has been developing the mobility of its learners for a few years with school trips or internships abroad. But the different actions lacked coordination to successfully carry the projects through.
The Erasmus+ project allowed the staff to create a board to coordinate the different projects more efficiently.
The person in charge of mobility had specific needs of training in foreign languages (Spanish and English) to be able to acquire more autonomy in her work, especially when contacting foreign partners and following learners abroad.
The Teacher of English also needed to update her knowledge and practice of the English language, as fluency is a skill of paramount importance which is often pointed at as responsible for French learners low level in languages.
Following these two mobilities,
The technician in training and research could start training in languages, which she will complete with self-study first and by attending other courses later. She made contacts with teachers in different countries which can be helpful for future projects.
The teacher of English gained motivation and energy for her job and learnt new activities to renew her lesson plans and teaching material.
She was able to share what she learnt with her colleagues and bring back a new dynamic to their team work, especially for the speaking workshops organised with some classes.
The result of this project is a positive one, both for its impact on the institution and on the members of staff who could acquire new professional and personal competences during the courses.
