Formarea elevilor si profesorilor din Liceul Tehnologic PETROL Moreni pentru VET la standarde europene
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The genesis of our project "Training for students and teachers from Liceul Tehnologic PETROL Moreni for VET at European standards" emerged from the need to reinvigorate the technical education in our school; the new Erasmus+ programme allowed us to approach the educational process through the strategic priorities for European cooperation in education and training. Analyzing the training needs of VET teachers and students, but also the problems of the technical education in our school, we have outlined the main objectives of the project: increasing the attractiveness of VET according to our local labor market requirements; acquisition of a work experience for our students in order to ensure the skils for their future job; the awareness of students' capacity for valuing their own potential to chose a suitable career; the continuous training of VET teachers in order to develop their professional skills; the transfer of the educational methods used in the English VET system and their adaptation to the educational process of our school; the internationalization of the VET education in our school through transnational mobility for students and teachers. Our project is uniform designed so that both VET teachers and students will benefit from a training in a similar institution in Europe; will be 8 VET teachers who will participate in a first flow (January 2015) and 15 VET students from Environmental Protection and Technic (Mechanic and Electromechanic) profiles in a second flow (June 2015), all with at least A2 level in English language. The activities set out in the project are phased according to the stages of the implementation of our project: choosing the foreign partners - City College Plymouth, selection of participants, making agreements with the partner and the participants, organising the general, linguistic and intercultural training of the participants before the mobility, carrying out the mobility, with specific tasks for VET teachers and students, monitoring the activities, mentoring, assessment and recognition of the learning outcomes; follow -up activities, dissemination and the use of the results, the assessment of the partnership and the continuation of the collaboration with City College Plymouth in next Erasmus+ projects. For the successful implementation of the project was chosed a project team, consisting of six persons, each with a vaste experience in its own area of responsibility: a coordinator, the legal representative of the institution, a person in charge with the training of VET teachers, a person in charge with the training of VET students, IT responsible and the financial responsible. The project team had worked effectively since the preparation of this application and has clear responsibilities throughout the life cycle of the project. Another important factor for the quality of our project is the vaste experience of our English partner, City College Plymouth, in providing educational and training services to European standards. The cooperation and the direct communication with the representatives of the English college will ensure the consistency of the project’s preparation and provides security and stability for its further evolution. The immediate results of the project will be found primarily in the optimization of the professional profile of the participants. The teachers will develop their professional and personal skills. The students will acquire new skills in their field of training and will improve their personal skills: self-awareness and self-confidence, integration on the labor market. The impact of the project and the benefits on the involved persons are highlighted by the personal and professional development of the participants – VET teachers and students, in the meaning of opening the horizons to internationalization, accumulation and transfer of the learning outcomes in the daily work. For the both Romanian and English partners our project will promote the understanding and the respect among the citizens of the European Union , an increased mobility of educators and learners on the European labor market.
