PROJECT
FINISHED
This project promotes social integration, intercultural and non-formal education, collaboration and communication in foreign languages. During her/his stay the volunteer can richly contribute to the European idea and also have a wide range of experiences in different cultural context, in everyday life and in languages and culture of another European country - bringing with them their unique differences.
We perceive the participation of our organization in this EVS project as very beneficial for all parties involved.
The values of our registered association "Na Slunci", z.s. tranlated "In the Sun" are based on active community cooperation. It offers many interesting and practical activities, new initiatives and public events. The organization's mission is to operate Family Club Jelinek - to work with preschool children, teaching and learning within the principles of forest kindergartens. We are inspired by forest nurseries in Germany and Scandinavia. The group is made up of children aged 2,5 - 6 years of age - we have a maximum of 15 children who are accompanied by one teacher and one guide. We are a team of volunteers and employees - mostly local parents and enthusiasts for sustainable developement and alternative ways of life.
We offer the volunteer involvement across a wide range of activities in the daily functioning of our kindergarden. S/he will gain a variety of skills in the day to day functioning of a forest nursery, planning of interesting activities, individual approach to children respecting their differences, new pedagogical trends (experiential, forest learning), non-violent conflict resolution based on open communication, organizing festivals, exhibitions and events, etc. Above all, however, the volunteer can develop healthy self-esteem, physical and mental fitness and social interaction skills across generations.
We know that volunteer can gain rich learning in our setting and subsequently be inspired for their future life and work. We also trust that friendships and relationships built during their internship will enrich their life.
The volunteer will bring a new dimension to our community, such as different approach to work, communication - expanding our awareness of other cultures and countries. S/he will also be an inspiring example for young people living in a small town. For our town the volunteers are a great opportunity for practical links within the EU, enriching our way of life and engaging people and other organizations in a variety of activities. We believe in mutual exchange of work and personal experiences. For the volunteers the project is an interesting opportunity to expand their work and personal potential.
Objectives of the project lead to learning how to organize activities for families with children and larger public events such open days and festivities. During their stay the volunteer should gain language skills - practice English and learn Czech. S/he will broaden her/his knowledge of Czech culture, learn how to manage money and how to actively participate in and contribute to a community life.
