Project idea was created based on the conclusions from the Florist Section meeting that is necessary educate florists in the field of new techniques and exchange experiences with the countries of EU related to vocational education for florists. Therefore, Association of craftsmen Zagreb (UOGZ) decided develop further this project idea in cooperation with the host partner TECNA. In project will participate 24 florists, members of UOGZ Florist Section and member of OKZ Guild who already have experience in the floriculture and who wish to expand their professional knowledge in order to transfer it to their apprentices and employees.
The objective of this project is the improvement and specialization of the existing competence in the field of floriculture for the members of UOGZ and OKZ, giving an example of good practice and knowledge transfer on the apprentices and other craftsmen, increase of competitiveness of florists in Croatia and EU. The specific objective of this project is introducing new technologies, legislation in Italy in appliance and methods of education and professional training for occupations related to floriculture. Participation in the project will interest UOGZ and OKZ members for active involvement on EU projects for improvement professional competence and competitiveness increase.
Mobility work programme will include: a visit to the National Federation of the Florist Italy (Federfiori) and the Provincial Association of florist Veneto (Associazione fioristi Veneti) - introduction with the organization of the Italian crafts chamber system, organization of apprenticeship in the floriculture sector and comparison with Croatian, introduction with the professional training programmes for florists, the organization of the master examination and vocational training implementation, the conditions for opening crafts, conditions for receiving apprentices in floriculture sector, ways of promoting; visits to craftsmen/florists - introduction with the obligations of apprentices and mentors, a practical example of flower arranging, introduction with various techniques of making bouquets, floral arrangements and wreaths, handling tools, equipment and technical aids in arranging; visit to Botanical Garden and flower growers - getting to know the different breeding measures (conditions, care, transplanting) and types of flowers; visit to flower distributors - introduction with the way of organization and ways of doing business. In addition to the professional part of the programme, it will be organized also culturally part of the programme which will take place in the evening or late-afternoon hours, and will include a tour of the city of Padua, exploring the cultural sites and traditions of the host country.
Through implementation of planned mobility work programme, project objectives will be achieved and the participants` needs will be met. Participation in the project allows them to improve the existing knowledge, exchange experiences, to monitor trends in floriculture, exploring new approaches in the vocational education for floriculture sector, learning about new technologies, materials and innovation. With connectivity between experts from Padua and Zagreb attraction, quality and system function of vocational training will be strengthened. The project participants will present chamber trade system in which UOGZ works, introduce them with vocational education in Croatia and the craftsmen role in the education process. Also they will open the possibilities of future cooperation and exchange experience between partner countries.
The expected mobility results are:
- 24 participants - craftsmen in the field of floriculture with improved professional competences
- contribution to vocational education quality increase at the national level
- 24 experts multipliers for transferring knowledge to apprentices and craftsmen
- 24 participants with improved knowledge of Italian language
- established partnership between UOGZ and TECNA
- the possibility of further cooperation
