This application describes the project: "FIT FOR EUROPE - internationalization competencies in vocational training"
for students of vocational schools of the district Oldenburg, with the location in Wildeshausen, short BBS Wildeshausen. The students are all visit an one-year course for the catering industry. This year of full-time education can be counted as 1 year of training in the dual system for the following professions: chef, restaurant/ hotel clerk, expert for systems catering.
In the context of growing together within the European Union is it increasingly important to have international experiences and to develop personal skills of the trainees. This can be received with the possibility of a two-week internship in appropriate kitchens and restaurants, in Poland. We want to implement the "European idea" and prepare the students for tomorrow's world.
Furthermore they should be encouraged to adapt new situations, typical techniques and dishes and find their way in a foreign culture. In particular, the openness to new and unknown situations is to be encouraged.
The internship is completed in the kitchen or restaurant in selected companies. Participants will receive training on their professional tailor activities.
Moreover the students have the opportunity to expand their personal and intercultural horizon, in order to get acquainted with the new work and everyday culture of a foreign country.
Our partner school, Zespół Szkół Zawodowych - is a professional Education Association in Poland with a focus on:
Technical College: 1- 4 years, with foreign languages German and English
Focus: engineer for food and catering services, Degree: A-level and completed training as a chef.
Our partner school agreed to look after our students, to organize the accommodation and food, to find practical operations and to give support when problems arise. The 1st internship in Poland takes possibly part in June 2015 and the 2. Internship in Poland possibly in November 2016 .
The previous project in November 2014 in collaboration with our partner school, Zespół Szkół Zawodowych was rated very positively by both sides and appreciated appreciative of the participants.
The stay in Poland is supported both by the teaching stuff of BBS Wildeshausen and by the headmaster.
As the pupils are in initial vocational training their financial resources are limited.
However, not do deny the opportunity of an internship abroad, the pupils are dependent on funding from the Erasmus + program. Any remaining copayment for the pupils serve the appreciation for the project.
