Final Dest-Y-E-Nation
Final Dest-Y-E-Nation
Start date: Sep 1, 2014,
End date: Dec 31, 2014
PROJECT
FINISHED
The seminar "Final Dest-Y-E-Nation" will gather 20 participants from 9 different countries (France, Slovenia, Germany, Spain, The Netherlands, Portugal, Turkey, Romania and Lithuania). This activity will be held from 17th to 20th of November in Strasbourg, France.
The aim of this seminar is to discuss and exchange about social inclusion, but from different perspectives and with “real experts”. This means gathering together the young people being themselves in situation of exclusion, the youth or social workers working with them on a daily/regular basis and academics as well as policy makers.
Our objectives are:
-to achieve a common and clear definition of social inclusion of young people in Europe;
-to share, learn and collect good practices on social inclusion of young people and compile them in a publication;
-to support and equip young people with fewer opportunities to play an active role in public life and to shape in a responsible way their own destiny and that of the community they live in;
-to identify, develop and consolidate specific and essential skills for youth and social workers to be able to have an inclusive approach;
-to raise awareness on the impact of youth work as a tool to actively promote social inclusion.
This seminar is designed for young people with fewer opportunities and youth/social workers who work with them on a daily/regular basis as well as policy-makers.
The seminar will be based on several interactive activities prepared by the team of facilitators, using non formal education methods. It will be participants-centred and active participation will be stronlgy encouraged. We will use Open Space Technology and Fishbowl methods as main working tools.
Some elements of the programme are:
-Getting to know each others;
-Final general evaluation concerning the activities, expectations, objectives, facilitators and food and accommodation;
-Presentation of the results of the 2 previous seminars (« Toolbox »)
-Testing the « Toolbox »: practical workshops
-Conference « Making Waves » as a dissemination strategy and drawing conclusions, sending recommendations to reach out young people with fewer opportunities, youth/social workers and policy-makers.
-Local field visits
This project include partners from different parts of Europe in order to have a broaden perspective on social inclusion.
We will produce a toolkit (online publication) as result of this seminar that will be presented during the final conference "Making Waves".
We also plan, in a long-term , the mainstreaming of our results: we hope to convince decision-makers to adopt the experiences and results from our project to use them in local, regional, European policies (systems or practice) after campaingning for the whole year 2015 for social inclusion of young people and their full access to social rights.
