FINISHED
This project is coordinated by “Groupe d’Appui et de Solidarité” (Support and Solidarity Group) non-profit organization, the sending structure, in partnership with the non-profit organization “Migrations et Développement” (Migrations and Development), hosting structure. This project, entitled « Fil Rouge Maroc », includes two European Voluntary Service (EVS) projects.
Two groups of 8 young people in short term EVS were sent to Morocco between february and may 2015, both with missions related to the sustainable development, the commitment and the youth. Activities were focussed on landscaping and rehabilitation.
This project had different objectives. First of all, the aim was to allow young French people, facing social and professional integration difficulties, to live a civic engagement experience through a community project which is responding the need of other citizens (in this case Moroccans). Then, to develop and strengthen required training to their civil, social and professional integration (knowledge, behavior and know-how) but also to accentuate their autonomy and to assume responsibility. Finally, to widen their knowledge about other cultures, contexts, and their way of mixing with and exchanging with Moroccans, especially the Moroccan youth.
Moreover, this EVS project is allowing us to strengthen ours ties with the organization “Migrations et Développement”, with whom we are sharing the same values and objectives. Through the EVS, we want to give another dimension to the citizen and solidarity actions supported by our organization in France and more specifically in Picardy. By allowing young people from Picardy to live an intercultural experience of civic engagement, we also want to encourage their engagement within our organization and other actors involved in community projects in Picardie.
