The project "Feeling Home Everywhere" is a multilateral training that concentrates on the topics immigration and refugees. The basic idea for this project arose during the youth exchange "What about Silence?" in 2015. Germany is hosting the training. Guest countries are Italy, Hungary and France, each nation taking part with 5 participants. The groups consist of participants from the age of 18 years and older, who themselves are active in national and/or international youth work.Thematic focus of this project are the challenges associated with the increasing work with young people, that have a migration background, in national and international youth work. The aim of this project is to increase the confidence in working with said youngsters and to improve the quality of future youth exchanges. Central components are methods, which serve to better integrate young people with migration backgrounds in international youth work and especially youth exchanges, such as methods of low threshold but engaging workshop design and linguistic animation. In the same time it will be discussed how to offer a platform for a protected culture and experience exchange between young people with and without migration background. The training also serves as a starting point for future youth exchanges on the subject and with participation of the young people with migration background. A thematically connected youth exchange is planned for summer 2017 in Hungary, which aims to build on the training. Therefore, the majority of participants are full-time or volunteer youth workers, which are available for at least one year for future projects. However, this training is also open to participants, who do not directly participate in the follow-up projects. All participants will be effectively multipliers and contribute to combating xenophobic and right-wing extremist thoughts internationally and locally.
