Feel the Nature of Woods

Nowadays youth increasingly tend not to think about woods and natures importance. Woods become more contaminated, nature parks become less important and nature becoms undervalued. But what would be human without nature around him? That is why we wish youth to think about issues of nature conservation and participate in nature conservation share such as cleanups and waste recycling. As well as make youth understand that participating in such shares, which are held in the open air, will help themselves feel better and be healthy.The aim of the project is to encourage youth to participate in woods conservation shares thus promote their personal development and healthy behaviour, as well as imform youth about possibilities to conserve and protect nature.Objectives of the project are:- to promote intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity;- to promote youth participation in social life;- to encourage youth to participate in social work;- to encourage youth to protect state forests and nature;- to ensure yoputh exchange project and involve youth from Latvia and Estonia in it;- to promote intercultural communication;- to introduce youth not only with Latvian culture, but other particitating cultures as well;- to introduce youth with artistic and creating environment;- to increase youths level of competences and skills;- to ensure unity, development and schooling of participating in the project youth;- to organize different activities, which are connected with accepting of similiarities and differences;- to ensure activities of final event and saccessfully organize public event.In this project participants ages 16-24, which come from Latvia nad Estonia, will be able to participate in different kinds of wood conservation activities. Will be ensured informational discussions about behaiviour in the woods for participants, how not to harm wood and yourselve while you are in the wood. Participants will have a possibilty to go to the wood for cleanups and collect different forest goods, participate in different workshops, to go on a tour to the landfill and farms, as well as participate in public events together with persons with disabilities society members and inhabitants of Daugavpils city.During the project are going to be used non-formal education methods: creation of cell matrix and mandala, work in groups and individually, planning of events, visualization of ideas, performance and presentation of participants, consultation, discussions, workshops, energizers, ice-breaking activities etc.During the project will be made quiz “Let's explore the forest with all the senses”, which will be played between the participants, between persons with disabilities society members and between inhabitants of Daugavpils city. After the project this quiz will be transferred to children's educational institutions as educational material. During the project participants will learn how to do decoration from plastic and glass bottles and forest goods. These skills participants will be able to use in their organizations providing with similar workshops in their regions and teaching people to love nature. As well as after during the project made activities, participants will be motivated to perform good deeds in their regions, for example, also there organize forest cleanups.
