The Background of the Project:
In the beginning of the term, disadvantageous students are detected on the basis of classes in our school. For these detected students, Individualized Education Plans are prepared in collaboration with the guidance service. In direction of this plan, some particular activities are done for the students to reach the targets set throughout the year.
However; as a result of the survey applied to the teachers, it is detected that there are some problems with the education of the disadvantagous students.
Based upon the survey results, it has been decided that seminars be organized to take advantage of the experiences of various countries and to apply them to our country. The project work has been started with the committee established out of the mindful and willing teachers in the school.
The Content of the Project:
With this project, we aim to better our inadequate skills that we see in ourselves about the education of the disadventgeous students, to make use of the experiences of developed countries, to transfer different approaches of other developed countries to our country and to bring the disadvantageous individuals in our society as possible as we can.
The Goal of the Project:
To minimize the difficulties and compliance problems that the disadvantegous students who have to share this life with us withing the lifecycle are to face in the school, to encourage the development of the students in parallel with the international developments and other cultures that have reached the level of contemporary advancements, to bring the disadvantegous students in the school society, to make up the difference between the disadvantegous and the others, to minimize the worries of families on this issue and to tell them that their children are not actually different from other students.
The Number and Profile of the Participants:
The participants to conduct the project should; have the vision of EU, be able to take resposibility in the conduction the project and handle this kind of work, be willing and enthusiastic for research , be self-confident, be proficient enough in a foreign languge to express himself/herself, be able to use BIT tools actively in classes, be responsible, be experienced in etwining project work, be able to speak for his/her country abroad.
The teachers who have these qualities have been chosen by the project commitee.
Introduction of the Activities and Methodology to be used in the Project:
With seminars, meetings, surveys, in-class application methods; the gains of the project will be more functional. At the end of the project work, the teachers will change their approaches towards the disadvantegous students and improve their professional skills with new techniques. Compliance problems of the disadvantegous students will be minimized and their level of activity will be maximized.
Outcomes and effects:
With the education received, the participants will learn new methods and techniques. They will also enrich their fund of knowledge and become more dynamic in what they do. In this way, their manner of approach towards the disadvantegous students will change.
As a result of all this work, the school will pioneer and be a model for other schools around.
Students will feel more self-confident, come to school more wishfully, see themselves equal with peers, become socialized and increase their levels of achivement.
