Facing the Economic Crisis by Enhancing Professional Practicing Exchanges in Europe
Start date: Aug 1, 2016, End date: Jul 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

In an era when the European countries' labour forces suffer from huge unemployment rates, partly due to the phenomenon of labour mismatch paradox, specifically in the realm of vocational training, the process of updating the methods of preparation of young peolpe to enter a demanding labour market with ever-changing needs is becoming more and more necessary. Due to economic recession, job searching extends further from the borders of our country, while more and more people young people seek emplopyment in another European country, either because of redundancies of specific specialties, or even a mismatch between the subject of study and the offered position. On the other hand, nowadays, there has been an increeased promotion, through the medias, of vocational activities that apt the fields of Tourism and Cooking. Furthermore, the recent successful placement of our trainees in Spanish organizations (2015-1-EL-ΚΑ102-013481) has proved the ability of immediate adaptation and professional development in another European country with common Mediterranean characteristics, while, in parallel, sharing similar cultural and socio-economic challenges, which the participants haved successfully coped with. In addition, the Spanish entrepreneurs have proved to be willing to further cooperate under a contract with our trainees. This recently acquired experience has encouraged us to to reinforce support mechanisms in the current project through our cooperation with other countries, so that trainees in the fields of Tourism Management of Cooking (Chefs) are encouraged to seek job opportunities in another European country, especially under the threat of economic recession; these specific disciplines are faced with big publicity throughout Europe nowadays and are therefore prestigious concerning job finding opportunities in other European countries. What is more, our experience enables us to focus on the approach of a current European matter : the attempt of solving the phenomenon of unemployment and finding ways to defeat it through practice exchanges of vocational practical training in the Iberian peninsula and in Europe generally. Greece, Spain and Portugal are known to be the Mediterranean countries which are suffering from the economic recession. As a result, they all have direct and mutual benefit from the enhancement of innovative exchanges of vocational training in the fields of Tourism and Cooking, as an initiative towards overcoming the economic crisis.Under the limits of the proposed project, we are planning to implement the following mobility flows:1. Fourteen (14) trainees of the department of "Cooking Technicians-Chefs" will be placed for practical training from 28/11/2016 to 14/12/2016 in APLICAPROPOSTA LDA organization in Braga, Portugal and 2 accompanying teachers (one per week).2.
