A group of 24 people from Poland and Romania between the age of 14 and 20 will be the participants of the “Factory of Understanding “ project, who have motivation to take action against discrimination and want to get involved in social and civic initiatives. Except for that, these are young people open to other cultures, who want to actively impact on the future of common Europe. The members of the Youth Council of Lubaczów and self-governments of the local schools were the initiators of the project. The theme of the project is tolerance, art, cultural diversity, group discriminated and socially excluded and broadly understood concept of the European citizenship. The main aim of the "Factory of Understanding “ will be promoting European cooperation, tolerance and cultural variety and civil activity development within the area of anti-discrimination among young people. We want to exchange experiences with the partners, develop our sensitivity, independence and openness to people who are in danger of being socially excluded and shape among the family and friends the attitude of tolerance and respect for the discriminated groups.To achieve these goals the following activities will be carried out:1) Ice-breaking integration workshops, which will contribute, among other things, to the integration of the participants, establishing closer relationships with their peers from abroad.2) The "WE and THEY" workshop, the workshop of counteracting hate speech.3) The "YOU CAN HELP” workshop.4) Initiatives for social justice, including graffiti with a message of tolerance.5) A Discussion "Common Europe: equality, diversity, solidarity?"6) Posting the effects of the work-project on the Internet (interviews pictures from campaigns-initiatives, memes).The results of our work will include:• the increase of awareness of European citizenship,• broadening knowledge about the culture, customs and traditions of the partnering country,• increasing openness to other people in all participants of the project,• organizing workshops to counteract hate speech, stereotypes, etc.,• organizing initiatives against discrimination and promoting active citizenship, • organizing a discussion „ Common Europe: equality, diversity, solidarity".For the realization of the task we will use methods from outside the scope of formal teaching and informal ones. We will learn, acquire competence and practical skills while working on the project, workshops, discussions, common work, games and the time spent together.
