External partnerships - making youth exchanges more inclusive
Start date: Dec 1, 2010,

The seminar entitled "External partnerships - making youth exchanges more inclusive" aims at giving to more young people the opportunity to develop intercultural understanding/competences, tolerance and European awareness. The project will tackle the challenge of including less advantaged target groups into long-term educational exchanges, through developing cooperation with other players in the field and by gaining more external support for intercultural mobility programmes. It will involve 17 participants (key youth workers), 4 trainers and 2 support staff from 16 countries and will take place in the surroundings of Brussels in the course of 4 working days. The programme will focus on the critical reflection on the current inclusiveness status quo, sharing good practices of the promoting organisations and finally on exploring the new opportunities for partnerships, which can lead to reaching less privileged target groups. The participants will also receive input on the European and other sources of support for exchange programmes and plan concrete actions for improving the situation in their countries in the future. The seminar will apply methods of non-formal education that will encourage peer learning and sharing among participants. The outcomes of the project will benefit largely the local communities in terms of including less advantaged target groups into long-term exchange programmes.
