> Background of project
There are two important aspects that can influence negatively the performance of pupils at schools: lack of a learning method and poor communication skills. Learning to learn is an essential propedeuthical competence to learn any topic, discipline or skill, while if you cannot communicate effectively what you have learned, the assessment can be negative, although you know the subject you studied. For this reason both competences should be considered essential goals of all learning. Nonetheless, teachers tend to underestimate these competences and focus their attention on disciplinary subject matters which remain the central target of teaching and learning.
> Objectives of project
The project aims to develop a method to integrate the transversal competences which are important for independent learning and communication with the study of traditional subject matters and topics and to implement them in school, VET and academic curricula. To achieve this objective the project focuses on the development of didactic methods and ICT tools aimed at improving:
- learning strategies
- information processing and text structuring
- handling numbers using info graphics applications
- public speaking during school and university exams
The learning resources will be used at school of for independent study.
