PROJECT
FINISHED
In this project our main target group in our activities is socially and economically deprived communities including immigrant youths. In the frame of the this year's projects, Norwegian, Somalian, Turkish and Eastern European origin communities make up an important part of the audience of our activities. The objective is encouraging them to participate into the society using media and digital tools more actively.
Project is organized by Norsensus Mediaoforum in Norway partnering with Youth A.R.T. in Turkey which will be sending a volunteer to be a part of the project for 12 months.
The main activities of the project is contacting the immigrant communities in Oslo and guide them to being more visible in media. At the same time there will be held seminars and workshops for youth in various areas of media from journalism and writing articles to photography and digital media development. Through weekly meetings we will evaluate the work being done and adjust our methods accordingly.
In Norway the project will help NGOs, the immigrant communities and youth to have higher media literacy and learn using both traditional and social media efficiently while getting more involved in the community. The experience from this project can be shared with other NGOs working within media in Europe or other countries to help them overcome problems related to media illiteracy in their region.
