In this project volunteers from abroad participate in two EVS projects that are located in a rural area of the Netherlands. The activities are organised in Vorden (Urtica de Vijfsprong: a biodynamic farm where people with psychosocial/psychiatric problems are supported) and in Vierakker (de Kleine Koning: a residential house that supports children with special needs). Volunteers are all sent by the same sending organisation located in Cologne: Köllner Freiwilliger Agentur. This organisation is also responsible for the predeparture training of the volunteers. Two volunteers at de Vijfsprong will asssist in operational activities in and around the farm. One volunteer at de Kleine Koning is assisting with mainly household activities and to a certain extent, activities for the children. Local transport is provided by offering the volunteers a bicycle. The volunteers will learn about farming at Urtica de Vijfsprong and about supporting people in need at both projects. For both projects, anthroposophical principles are important for the support that is provided to the children (at de Kleine Koning) and the clients (at Urtica de Vijfsprong). Lava Legato is the coordinating organisation that takes care of the administration, the mentoring and the management of the project. Köllner Freiwilligen Agentur is the sending organisation.
