Sund folk high school in Inderøy has approx. 100 students, most of them Norwegian students, but also some from USA, Asia and Africa. We wanted to expand our international work and wanted european volunteers to fill this role. The aim was to get european volunteers to work within the fields of art and culture, as language often some in second place within tese subjects. We have had a young male dancer from Turkey as a volunteer in our boarding-school. He has been teaching dance in various forms as elective-subjects for the students. He ha also arranged dance-evenings and other dance-events at the school. The volunteer has also been collaborating with a local youth-cafe where he has been arranging dance-events. His major project has been to arrange a Flashmob in the nearest city, Trondheim. For the preparations to this event he har been visiting many schools of all types. He also contacted media and got attention around this big event. The results of the project have been very satisfying. We have learned about Turkey, and we have had a good intercultural experience. The Norwegian students in Sund folkehøgskole have learned to dance, and to become friends with a very sympathetic young man from Turkey.
