Our House in Maria Guggin/Lower-Austria:Address: WG NOGU, Hütersteig 8, 3400 KlosterneuburgMaria Gugging is a little town located in the Viennes forest in the west of Vienna and is about 45 Minutes from the center of Vienna away. Our house is located close to a bus station in the centre of Maria Gugging. The concept behind this house is a very special one, because it is supposed to fill the gap between the time on our sailing boat and their step into the regular accommodation at the AKs Noah provided by the Austrian welfare system. That means that the group of kids changes every year, which brings a big challenge for the team an the volunteers working there. Within this house, there is also a separate flat as individual housing for one or two kids. A team of 5- 7 social pedagogues is taking care of these kids and their daily routine. There are currently 2 volunteers (austrian volutary service, civil service) supporting the team at NOGU.Another project at this house is the large garden, as an option to run little outdoor projects with the kids ("grow your own food", "build a shelter or a tree house", playing soccer, ...).The volunteers will be involved in the daily routine and their own projects. The team leaders will be mentors to support the volunteers with every part of their projects.AKs Noah works with children with fewer opportunities, they are dealing with different situation of social exclusion. So voluteers out of nearly the same living and social conditions can be a very helpful and impotant rolemodel for our kids. In our daily work, it doesn´t matter how educated you are or where your families come from! The most important thing is to be authentic and full of respect for different living conditions!• Youth between 18 and 30 years old and legally resident in a Programme Country.• Open minded and willing to integrate in a new society and environment• Creative and willing to use different creative ways of expression• Active and having a proactive behavior by bringing their own idea for implementation and creating new opportunities forinvolvement• Motivated to develop their competences in an international environment during an EVS serviceSo we are looking for young people, who are motivated to work with children out of difficult situation. All the time supported and mentored by an professional team of social workers/social pedagogues/psychologists. The volunteers should be able to run small projects of daily life by themself.
