Professional school of veterinary medicine “Ivan P. Pavlov” in Stara Zagora tries hard to achieve the educational goals in vocational training. Every year the school signs contracts with enterprises in order to carry out a practical education, but at this stage their practical activity in real business is not enough. Economic development in Bulgaria is a challenge for education.It’s necessary professional education and training to be based on new competences for vocational and social realization. Teachers in this sphere have to be prepared to application of dual system in Bulgaria through sharing experience and transboundary cooperation with European countries. The main idea of the project is two groups each of 12 students in 11th grade and completed 18 years age to be educated on real work places in Germany and Austria for 29 days. The groups will include 4 students from specialty “Veterinary technician”, 4 students from “Veterinary laboratory”, 4 students from specialty “Control the quality and safety of food and drinks” accompanied by two teachers.The students will practice in veterinary clinics and enterprises for producing of food and drinks. Teachers for professional preparation will carry out the educational mobility through sharing experience/ observation in vocational schools and employers in Austria and Germany.Ten teachers from Professional school of veterinary medicine will take part in educational mobility - 5 in Austria and 5 in Germany. They will acquaint with contemporary educational methods, mainly – dual system – which will be introduced in Bulgaria; using ECVET; The way of education – through seminars, work visits in professional schools, organizations, working on dual system, educational centers.The selection of beneficiaries will be organized thanks to clear and correct criteria by selection commission, appointed by issued supervisor’s of the project order. THE MAIN GOAL of the project is increasing the quality of professional education in PGVM – Stara Zagora through transfer of a model and good educational practices in Austria and Germany.Sub-goals:1. European innovations in the field of vocational education through practice in a real work environment – a guarantee for a successful work place. 2. European competences for dual system of education and ECVET. 3. Increasing knowledge of culture, everyday life and traditions in Austria and Germany. 4. Obtaining of European conscious and self-confidence for community affiliation. 5. Exchange of applicable experience and know-how in education on professions. 6. Social, civilian, foreign language and computer competences.RESULTS: Transfer of model and good practices from dual system in Austria and Germany; dual education – combination of theory, learned at school, and practical skills, obtained in business environment; ECVET and using system in schools and enterprises in Austria and Germany in training and practice. Comparative analysis of organization in vocational education in Austria, Germany and Bulgaria; Ideas for innovative practices applicable in Bulgarian conditions. Building and learning European innovations in the field of veterinary medicine and food technologies through practice on real work place; Acquiring skills for work in environment of European partnership; Improving English; Acquiring Europeans conscious and self-confidence for affiliation to community; Acquiring key competences; Closeness of personnel education with business requirements; Increasing the capacity of students and teachers at school in order to work on European projects.EFFECT: Increasing education, development and transfer of innovative practices from country to country; systematic usage and approving of European instruments for transparency as National qualification frame, European qualification frame, ECVET and Europass for encouraging transnational mobility; forming self-consciousness in students for European citizenship; Increasing students suitability towards labor market; improving foreign language competences as prerequisite for integration on national and international labor market; improving comprehension for social, European and cultural diversity.LONG-TERM BENEFITS: Increasing quality of vocational education and training; High school prestige and readiness for introduction of dual system; Preventing dropping out of young people from educational system. Practical experience and better readiness for work places; Dual system is the most effective way for young people to have good perspectives for professional realization, firms – qualified employees; Training abroad will help them to develop knowledge, skills and competences, it will encourage self-consciousness and build active European citizenship; It will improve mutual understanding and cultural relationships in European Union and strengthen economic and social becoming close of member state.
