Project "European youth today, responsible European citizens tomorrow - Atelier for Social Responsibility” is essential to society and, in particular young people. To build a socially responsible society that creates cultural diversity, protect human rights, to ensure democracy and freedom, and realize European policies, it is necessary young people to be brought in line with European principles, to participate in initiatives and be creative. This is important because today's young people brought up in the spirit of European principles are responsible citizens of Europe tomorrow. The project is according to "Erasmus +" to promote the social inclusion of young people and their active participation in society; promote healthy behavior through outdoor activities as a means of promoting a healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyle; development of basic and additional skills to conduct linguistic diversity and social inclusion.
The main objective is to promote cooperation between young people to join the ideas of humanism, social engagement, to increase their competence. It will be achieved by organizing social atelier/workshop that will allow participants to develop new skills, to experience significant social problems, discover new cultures, supporting values such as solidarity, democracy, friendship etc. Participants will work with disadvantaged people, with isolated social groups, etc. and will recognize their key role in building a more comprehensive liability of the society to these people. The project aims to develop competencies in young and took the best of them for the needs of society; to encourage participants to be active Europeans believe and realize their ideas, to think global and European level to assist their communities to spread the principles of volunteering.
Participants in the project will be 24 young people from Macedonia and Bulgaria who are motivated to work together, to share good ideas and practices within 10 days of mobility.
All activities will be organized in the region of Dryanovo, where there are conditions for achieving the project objectives-there are isolated social groups, disadvantaged people, rich cultural heritage, preserved crafts, nature parks and trails.
Elements of the main activities are organizing social atelier; nature activities; cultural and sightseeing activities, meeting with people who are living history. Emphasis in the project activities, which will develop skills and have a key role in building of the civil social society-environmental awareness, friendship, teamwork, leadership, mutual, respect and tolerance for different cultures to know and care about European culture. Also improve language skills. Will be encouraged creativity and innovation among young people as a sustainable way of tackling inequality and isolation of society. Will promote voluntary activities of young people in Bulgaria and will attract new youth volunteers.
The project will be coordinated by the "Institute for Cultural Heritage" and Regional Advocacy Center. There will be cooperation with Dryanovo municipality, Regional History Museum, Tourist Association, homes to accommodate people and others. The project team and specialists are highly qualified in the field of project management; civil rights; health instructor; mountaineer; creator of souvenirs; cultural workers, psychologists, experts in tourism, social activities and more.
Participants young volunteers after completion of the project will take an active part in the reforms in the societies in which they live, will get more playing field by new acquaintances, which will be able to apply their creativity. The project will have an impact on young people, which will support local communities through voluntary youth project proposals and initiatives. The example of the young participants in the project will be followed by young people in local communities will continue to initiate activities related to the needs of the disadvantaged, and to promote the project results.
Last but not least, the project will help young people realize that they can actively participate in various volunteer activities related to the promotion and dissemination of European values. In this way, they can focus their knowledge and skills on the real needs of local communities. The best way for young people to understand that they are citizens not only of their countries, but Europe is giving its countries at European level. Then they will be representatives of Europe in their own countries, taking there the spirit of citizenship. Participation in all activities of the project will demonstrate to participants that their actions matter, that they are the future of Europe.
