Everest - Exploring Value of Experience: Rewriting Education through Synergy Training

EVEREST (Exploring Value of Experience: Rewriting Education through Synergy Training) is a chain of 3 activities implemented during the period of October 2015 and August 2016. It has the following structure: 1) Study visit in Olde Vechte Foundation in Netherlands, - 22th-27th November 2015. 2) Training Course in Bakuriani/Borjom Kharagauli National Park, Georgia, 20-28th of May, 2016. 3)Seminar in Hellevad Watermill in Rødekro, Denmark, 21th - 25th of September, 2016. The project gathers experienced youth workers, trainers & facilitators, project coordinators, youth leaders and beginner youth workers from Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, Armenia, Czech Republic, Romania and Georgia to train them in using different methodologies such as outdoor education, experiential and adventure education in youth work. The project aims to develop the capacity of the organizations to use the methods of experiential learning and outdoor education in order to work more efficiently with their target groups, especially with groups of young people with fewer opportunities. EVEREST sets the following objectives: · To bring together the organizations from 7 different countries specializing in, or actively practicing the outdoor education and/or experiential learning methodology in order to create a fruitful base for efficient cooperation and synergy. (SV) · To deeply explore a work of Olde Vechte Foundation, which is one of the prominent organizations in this field throughout the Europe. (SV) · Reflect on the best practices, evaluate and share the accumulated experience of the partner organizations in order to boost the synergy. (SV) · To develop a training course using the experiential learning as a main methodology based on the outcomes of the study visit. (SV) · To give the youth workers from involved organizations the opportunity to try out the learning in practice through designing and implementing the training course in Georgia. (TC) · To develop youth workers’ leadership and facilitation skills through involving them in leading the educational process. (TC) ·To promote outdoor education and experiential learning through the young members of the of the partner organizations.(Target group of the TC) (TC) · To evaluate the process and the tools that were used during the training course and identify specific opportunities for more efficient use of the methodology of experiential learning and outdoor education in work with young people with fewer opportunities. (S) · Reflect on the outcomes of the TC in order to conceptualize the learnings and document them. (S) · Create a toolbox for using the experiential learning and outdoor education in work with young people with fewer opportunities. (S) · Create a platform for disseminating the results and jointly promote them through different channels throughout the Europe. (S) · Enlarge the bounds - Plan future cooperation on the topic. (S) We are targeting on creating strong long-term bounds of the organizations working on outdoor education and experiential learning. Also producing the outcomes which will be accessible to wide range of organizations through SALTO-YOUTH toolbox and other channels.
