Evde Yaşlı Bakımında Uzmanlaşmak için Hollanda, İtalya ve Portekiz'deyiz
Start date: Jul 1, 2016, End date: Jun 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

It is aimed that elders staying home alone and being isolated and lacking care to beprevented with a new implementation to be introduced in our country. Following the implementation of financial aid for home care services concerning 9 million disabled people in 2007, free ‘home care support’ for millions of people including disabled and elderly people, and other people looking after them, is being put into practice with a legislation passed in 2015. By this support, it is aimed that disabled/elderly people living with their family or alone will be visited by care support personnel every week or every day if necessary, and that all the needs of the elderly or disabled people, from cutting their nails to feeding them, and the monitoring of their medication use, health and psychological condition will be satisfied. With this legislation being passed, a huge demand for the home care service provided to elderly people will emerge, and a serious employment field will be formed after pilot implementations are carried out. Although our students have an experience in elderly care, they do not have a thorough command of practical skills, and of points to be paid attention while providing an elderly care service at home. At this point, we have found it appropriate for our students to perform their internship activities at institutions of high quality abroad which provide home care services, in order for our students to expand their capacities, and create an area of employment for them in the field of home care services. 45 students of ours from the field of Elderly Care at Home will engage in internship activities in three groups in Italy, Netherlands and Portugal for 14-day periods. Our participant students will be able to provide a service of high quality in this field where a serious employment area will be created, by increasing their vocational skills with these internship practices. Moreover, considering the population of foreign people settled in our region, and that our students will achieve developments in culture and English language during their movements in three countries of the Europe within the scope of our project, they are aimed and expected to serve not only to the citizens of our country, but also to elderly people settled in our country after they have retired in their homelands, and thus to expand their area of employment. It is also expected that our students will experience a growth in their self-esteem, and that their contribution rate to the society will increase, following these developments. For our project to present a healthy management, and for each unit of our school to contribute to our project process in an administrative sense, a Project Management Committee that will be formed by teachers of our school from different fields will be established. This committee will be the planner, operator and instructor of all activities in 1-year period of our project, and will take all necessary steps for our project to proceed as written in this form. Sharing the risks in our projects with partners, budget control, and the implementation of all expenses within the budget, performing the activities of the project in time, and taking care of all kinds of risk elements that may disturb the continuity of the project will be under the responsibility of our Project Management Committee. A partnership contract with our partners overseas will be signed which includes the topics related to selecting a responsible project officer, keeping constantly in touch with the authorities of our school, organizing the accomodational facilities for the participants as full pension, planning internships, and cultural and vocational trips, collecting internship attendance tables, providing airport shuttles and transportation within the city and other dutiesIn our school, on the other hand, effects such as the modernization of the education, the increase in the quality of vocational education with news educational tools and methods being transmitted to our school, the provision of a sustainable development of our school within the scope of strategic aims with project applications by creating a project culture, and an increase in the administrative capacity of the project through the collaborations established with our partners overseas, and through the fulfillment of organizations within our project. In addition, our school is expected to go through a process of internationalization by establishing a network of sustainable relationship with our partners overseas. Additionally, our project will produce outputs that are in compliance with the articles of our 10th Development Plan, MNE 2014-2020 Strategic Plan, and European Sufficiency Framework and Europe Strategic Plan.
