European Youth Empowerment
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The "European Youth Empowerment" project is for young people with difficulties to enter on the market of the employment. It will give the opportunity to thirteen young people to make a commitment on a mission of European voluntary service to acquire and develop diverse skills. Seven partners will cooperate to allow the implementation of the actions. ADICE, the expanding French association of the project will work with ProAtlântico - Associação Juvenil ( Portugal), Fondazione Mondoaltro (Italy), Curba de Cultura (Romania), Ayuntamiento de Fromista (Spain), Vicolocorto (Italy), Associazione Culturale Link (Italy) and Jaunatne by iesaistisanos (Latvia). Each of these structures has an expertise in the hosting and volunteers’ accompaniment in particular young people with fewer opportunities. For the coordination of the project and the accompaniment of the young people, ADICE will lean in particular on these tools and methodologies developed and which showed their ability in quality term of accompaniment (educational plan, notebook of mobility, database). The implementation of the project “European Youth Empowerment” identified that: the majority of the young people in the public of ADICE meet difficulties finding their place in the society. Some do not manage to find a job, others are in break with the education system and have difficulty in planning ahead, and others suffer from their lack of experience of mobility. This project has to give the opportunity to the public of ADICE to make a commitment on a project of European voluntary service to acquire and develop diverse skills. This project includes 7 European partners in Portugal, in Italy, in Romania, in Spain, in France and in Latvia. It plans the implementation of 13 European voluntary services (11 long terms and 2 short terms) which address firstly to young people with fewer opportunities. The missions are diverse (mainly social and cultural fields) and will aim at developing the personal projects of the participants while implementing actions of general interest for the local communities where will take place the activities. The majority of the activities is for a young public. These activities will be very enriching because of the multiculturalism of the actors (local team, young volunteers, local communities). By the mobility of the young people and their European commitment, the objectives of the project " European Youth Empowerment " are : - Acquisition, development and capitalization of personal, professional and social skills for the participants - Facilitation in the insertion of the young people after their project (take part of a training, a job,an achievement of a personal project, new international mobility in internship of professionalization or in international civic service for example, etc.). - Networking of European partners for the sharing of good practice, tools and methods concerning the accompaniment and the inclusion of the young people with fewer opportunities. - Exchange of good practices and tools for the improvement of the accompaniment of a weakened public. - Promotion of the European programs. - Valuation of the commitment and the European citizenship. So, through these activities, we think that this project can have impacts on the long term. For the participants to the project, it is expected the acquisition and the development of personal, professional and social skills to facilitate the insertion of these young people (take part of a training, a job, an achievement of a personal project, new international mobility in internship of professionalization or in international civic service for example, etc.). Furthermore, by involving in this project former and new partnerships, ADICE plans to solidify and to develop its European network. It is a question of exchanging of good practice and tools to improve qualitatively the methods of each to adapt itself to the needs for our public. The European Youth Empowerment project also has for vocation to aim at the target public of each of the partner organizations. Each of the local communities which will host the volunteers of this project will have the opportunity to live an enriching intercultural exchange and to obtain information on the possibilities of mobility offered by the European Union.
