The dates for the European Week of Sport in Denmark are 10-18 September 2016.The main national event of European Week of Sport in Denmark is the Street Sport Festival on the Copenhagen City Hall Square, taking place on 17 September 2016. The Street Sport Festival is the venue of the Street Cup Finals, the culmination of a series of local events and tournaments across Denmark in the months prior to the finals. Together with the Street Sport Festival, further flagship events are foreseen in European Week of Sport in Denmark:1) Ollerup all-community-engagement for European Week of Sport in Denmark. Engaging an entire local community in European Week of Sport branded activities will be staged by the Ollerup Academy of Physical Activity. 2) Copenhagen half marathon, 18/9 2016. Organised by the Danish Athletics Federation and Sparta, the Copenhagen half is a flagship event attracting 20.000 runners and up to a hundred thousand spectators. 3) Day of the nature 11/9 2016. In collaboration with the Danish Outdoor Council and the Danish Nature Conservation Society, ISCA will integrate and co-brand physical activities of the Day of the Nature in European Week of Sport. More than 200 events and 40.000 participants are expected. 4) HighWay Party 10-11/9 2016. With the official opening of a new stretch of highway in cetral Denmark, DGI will organise running, cycling, rollerblading, handcycling, rollerskiing, racerunner events and expect 20.000 participants. 5) NowWeMOVE events – ISCA will deploy several of its NowWeMOVE campaign elements before and during the Week, eg including Cross-Border Cycling event, European Fitness Day, No-elevators-day and MOVEment pills. In particular, we have had positive dialogue with WHO Europe to activate the UN HOUSE workplace in Copenhagen during the week, in collaboration with DGI Copenhagen and Ollerup.
