In this long-term voluntary service Ukrainian volunteer in Oberhof will provide support at national and international educational work. The emphasis will be placed on the individual non-formal learning process of the volunteer; he/ she should learn and be encouraged to introduce his/her own ideas and projects at the same time. The project is held with the assistance of the Ukrainian sending organization YMCA and many associations, governmental agencies, etc. in Oberhof and the district. The work is focused on the realization of activities relevant to sports, art, culture, health, participation, integration, democracy and European subjects. The partners see the project as a contribution to democracy-building in the context of the current political situation and the need to strengthen civil society. Target groups for volunteer service are children and young people from underprivileged families, the socially deprived from various European countries, migrants, minorities, “drop outs” and the unemployed. The volunteer will help to organize children and young people’s free time using different methodological approaches and take part in the realization of multilateral youth meetings. In that way, the volunteer with a different intercultural view can get involved in activity and, thus, be an additional quality component in the pedagogical work of AWO Sano."
