This youth exchange will bring together 40 participants from 5 different countries (France, Estonia, Italy, Macedonia and Czech Republic). Their skills and competences needed to promote European citizenship among young people. This youth exchanges is about European citizenship. We gained a lot of know-how and experience and developed concrete methodology and tools, which can be used by other NGOs. We would like to share these good practices with other youth workers from all over Europe.
European citizenship is not an easy topic to work with young people. Young people often see the European Union as something far away, which they cannot influence. They do not identify themselves with the European identity. Therefore, youth workers need quality and attractive tools and appropriate capacities. The participants will come from different social and cultural backgrounds and will reflect together about the meaning of European citizenship from different points of view. Through practical and theoretical workshops, reflections in small groups, discussions in plenary, games and interactive exercises they will develop their competence and skills needed to work with young people on this topic.
The project will also create an informal network of youth workers and NGOs willing to go further in the promotion of European citizenship and organise a follow-up to this project. We will also collect various methodologies and materials for promoting the European citizenship and share them to other youth workers, NGOs and our partners. We would like to contribute to greater visibility of the topic of European citizenship.
