Knowledge of EU policies and tools in relationship to climate change mitigation is important for Ukraine to modernise socio-economic model and to withstand low-carbon economy challenges. This need is addressed by teaching the European Union Leadership in Climate Change Mitigation module.Wider objective - to develop knowledge base and human resource needed to harmonise socio-economic agenda in Ukraine with the EU climate change mitigation policies.Specific objectives:-to introduce the European angle into non EU related studies for university students-to deliver and disseminate in-depth analysis of EU climate policies and tools to academics and policy-makers-to create interest in the EU among stakeholders responsible for industrial policy-to upgrade skills of academics on the issue of the EU climate change mitigation leadership-to promote research experience for young researcher in European Union issuesMajor Outcomes:-Students (non EU related studies) with knowledge and skills needed to assist Ukraine's adhesion to the EU socio-economic agenda-Academics acquainted to EU climate agenda, ongoing projects, initiatives and best practices-Human resource to sustain module's teaching-Professionals from industry and public organisations familiar with advanced EU practices-Policy makers, responsible for industrial and research & innovations policies aware of EU climate change mitigation agendaImpacts:Locally, host institution becomes new actor in EU studies.Regionally:-graduates capable to support EU integration processes, vital for Dnipropetrovsk region development-policy makers familiar with EU approaches and policies for climate change mitigation-industry stakeholders equipped with EU practices and tools-academics acquainted with EU scientific resources and activities in the project field.Nationally, country-wide multiplier effect will be ensured.Internationally, project reinforces ties with academic schools and facilitates collaboration with EU.
