European Supported Employment Toolkit

The purpose of this Partnership was to develop a range of learning, educational and training materials that were aimed at professionals involved in delivering supported employment services to people with disabilities and potential employers in Europe. It was also important to establish standards and good practice in the field of supported employment in Europe. There was tangible evidence within Europe that there was an identified need for the development of such practical training and learning materials to improve the skills development of personnel involved in delivering supported employment services. The Partnership consisted of 10 partners and a wide range of associated partners from local, regional and national levels that were directly and actively involved in the production, design and development of the European Supported Employment Toolkit. All the partners were connected either directly or indirectly to the European Union of Supported Employment. The Partnership sought to reinforce a consistent methodology for the delivery of specialist supported employment services for people with significant disabilities as part of a longer term aim of increasing the numbers of severely disabled people entering sustainable employment. The 'Toolkit' consists of a range of Position Papers, How To Guides and Training Materials, which have been designed to increase the knowledge and skills of professionals responsible for the delivery of supported employment. The Toolkit has been designed to benefit projects throughout Europe to become more consistent not only in the delivery of supported employment, but in the values and principles associated with supported employment. The toolkit was developed over 2 years through 7 partnership meetings held throughout Europe.
