European Partnership for Exchanging Good Practice of Eco-Conscious and Integrative Lifelong Vocational Education and Training in Catering, Hospitality and Tourism on Levels 1-5 of the EQF

The aim of the partnership was to exchange European good practices of eco-conscious and integrative lifelong vocational education and training in the area of catering, hospitality and tourism on levels 1-5 of the EQF. The partners were vocational training institutions from three European countries: Hungary, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The motivation for this project was the already existing co-operation between the partner institutions. The need for the project originated from the changes that have recently taken place in vocational education from the early 1990s, particularly in the area of eco-conscious skills-development, integration policies and the enhancement of the transparency of national VET qualifications in Europe (EQF-NQF).The main project activities involved the management, the staff and the students of the above institutions, and ranged from study visits, workshops, conference and competition organisation and participation, monitoring to evaluation. The expected result of the project was to institutionally apply and internationally disseminate good VET practices of the partner countries in different forms of lifelong learning from initial to adult vocational training, with special emphasis on a) integration policies and practices of the partner institutions providing equal opportunities for the students/trainees; b) enhancing eco-consciousness by broadening the traditional concept of vocational skills development. The product of the partnership project was an international VET conference (for VET professionals, partner enterprises, social partners and Chambers of Trade and Commerce) on the above topics for disseminating good practices. The conference was accompanied by an international vocational competition for hospitality and tourism students (including special needs student, too), where international teams from the partner countries co-operated to complete professional tasks.
