The partnership has built on the success of mobilities between countries and used this shared experience to produce a European Charter of Mentoring and Befriending. This will act as a framework for future programmes and further partners across the EU to develop a consistent and accessible set of European materials and guidelines to support good practice throughout the EU. Through sharing learning and experience between partners we have developed common principles and guidelines for setting up and improving programmes of volunteer mentoring and befriending. A definition of mentoring and befriending to provide a basis for exchange and networking across the EU has been agreed. A web-site has been developed which allows open access to engage all programmes and individuals working in the field to a hub of good practice resources which focus on the issues of mentoring and befriending.
